JA Company Program empowers high school students to fill a need or solve a problem in their community and teaches them practical skills required to conceptualize, capitalize, and manage their own business venture. (Grades 9-12)
Junior Achievement of Central Maryland will bring JA Company Program to our students at home this summer! Entrepreneurial-minded students will have this incredible opportunity to not only create their own business but connect and network with peers throughout Baltimore City for this one-of-a-kind virtual experience.
Through the support of The Summer Collaborative, roughly 30 students will participate in JA Company Program Virtual Summer Camp to create their very own business venture. This program will run daily from 10AM-2PM starting July 13th- August 3rd, 2021.
JA Company Program Virtual Summer Camp is a free program for high school students in grades 9-12 that reside in Baltimore City. This program is held completely online using virtual platforms like ZOOM and one potential in-person day.
By participating in JA Company Program Virtual Summer Camp, students are organized into “companies" and undergo every step in the process of creating and running a business. With the help of corporate mentors, the students actually create a product or service, raise capital, advertise, and sell their product, and liquidate at the end of the program. Students are elected into leadership roles and organized into appropriate departments/functions. This is an excellent way for high school students to get “real-world” experience running a business, while being mentored by seasoned professionals.
