JA Leading Ladies connects businesswomen and outstanding female high school students in the Baltimore area to celebrate successes, develop talents, capture new opportunities and inspire the next generation of women leaders. The event celebrates the power of women at various ages and stages of life, and inspires participants with increased knowledge and confidence to further their career goals and network building. Through presentations, table discussions and interactive student/mentor activities, the event stays true to the hands-on JA philosophy of providing real-world experiences that help youth create an aspiration and plan for their futures.
The U.S. Department of Labor defines a nontraditional career as one in which 25% or less of those employed across the field are women. Non-traditional careers encompass a range of occupations, including architects, engineers, financial analysts, computer programmers, and construction personnel—some of the most in-demand and high-paying jobs that exist in our region today.
Join Junior Achievement for an enlightening morning program that will bring more than 200 area professionals and 100 outstanding female high school students together to foster a more gender-balanced workforce. You'll experience inspiring presentations and participate in meaningful mentor activities that will help the young women participants gain insight into the possibilities available to them, in a supportive environment where their voices are heard. One in five JA students pursue the same career field as their JA mentor—which means your impact in these activities can last a lifetime!
